For over thirty years, the residents of Hyde Park have struggled to save themselves from toxic chemicals that are poisoning their water, soil and air.

Until 1970, Hyde Park residents did not have running water or proper sewage. For many years, they pumped water from wells in their backyards and grew their own vegetables. In the mid 1980s, residents found out that a local wood preservant factory, Southern Wood Piedmont (SWP), had, for years, been leaking creosote into the ground. The EPA closed SWP, but the damage had already been done. People in Hyde Park and other surrounding areas have cancer, skin diseases and other serious problems related to chemical exposure.

Bryton Entertainment, LLC. worked to produce a documentary that tells the true story of the residents of Hyde Park. For over a year and a half we heard story after heart breaking story about the loss of loved ones, pets and property. We strived to show factual information in the documentary rather than rumors and conjecture that is generally dismissed or easily defended as opinion.

The residents need their voices to heard in a truly unbiased way if they are ever to receive the help they so desperately need. They are good people, and it was truly a blessing to get to know them and tell their story.

Take a look at the video below for a small sample of the documentary we produced.
